for many young people, college is more than a place to get a world class degree and meet lifelong friends. it’s also a place to meet a lifelong partner. on iu bloomington’s campus of more than 40,000 students, ali+eric did just that. lots of people find temporary partners in college, but seeing two people who have made it work through all the intricacies of college is really special. meeting through respective roommates, ali+eric brought their love (and a shiny new piece of jewelry) back to bloomington last week.
i really can’t explain how excited i was when ali told me they wanted to shoot their engagement session in bloomington. i’m obviously a fellow hoosier, so i take any excuse to spend time in bloomington. but this was different…i hadn’t been back on campus in a LONG time and let me tell you…it felt GOOD to be back. it was so significant for me to be back, walking the same steps i did almost 10 years ago but to be in such a monumentally different place in my life. it was truly a full circle moment for me.
ali+eric, thank you SO much for including me in your trip down from madison and spending the morning in a place so special to all hoosiers! you two are so lovely and i can’t wait for your wedding next year!
seriously, ali, with those eyes?!

a box of candy will be sent to the first person who can identify where the next 2 photos were taken!
